WE HAVE BEEN AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS SINCE 1978

Le Sueur-Henderson Dollars for Scholars is comprised of community members just like you, who understand the importance of a college degree and that it can make the difference in nearly every aspect of an individual's life, career, lifetime income, family, and community involvement.

 

WHY IS DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS SO IMPORTANT?   

Rising costs are closing doors to higher education for many individuals in our community and across the nation. Through Dollars for Scholars we have the opportunity to make a strong, collective statement about the importance of education beyond high school. We can provide both encouragement and financial support for local students.

 

HOW ARE FUNDS FOR LOCAL AWARDS PROVIDED?

Through a variety of fundraising activities each year, community members faithfully contribute financial support for local students. Funds also come from the generous support of local businesses, service organizations, and individuals who desire to sponsor scholarships in their name.

 

HOW ARE LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED?

By completing an online student profile and application, students become eligible for several local awards. Applications are scored electronically and are based on work experience, school and community involvement and academic record. In this way, the selection process is objective and nondiscriminatory making scholarships available to a wide range of deserving students planning to attend an accredited post-secondary institution.

 

WHO MAY APPLY FOR OUR SCHOLARSHIPS?

We believe any sincere and determined student should have the opportunity to continue his or her education after graduation. All students graduating from Le Sueur-Henderson High School, that fulfill the criteria or requirements established for scholarships, are eligible.  Scholarships can be for two-year, four-year, or vocational & technical colleges.
